GBA The Movie Way

I play metal gear and its sucks that I cant play it because of my wallet crashing.
I always ask my buddy if I can play for a while (mgs4)
Its so amazingly cool!!!

My boyfriend said he knows someone who has a ps3 (fully new in the box) selling for I think it was 160$?

I also heard that ps3 might be going down (which will happen but didnt know it would happen soon)

So the real question is, should I bite the bullet and buy the ps3 from a friend or wait until prices go down.

If you can get it for $160 from a friend, go for it. I doubt you'll find a new one in the store for that price until Sony redesigns it 4 or 5 years down the road.

Besides, buying from a friend solves 2 problems: you get a Sony product that you want, and Sony doesn't actually see money from your purchase! Can't lose!

That is a great price, but I'm an Xbox girl myself. I do have a PS3, though. I just like the 360 a bit more. It seems a lot better at keeping me busy then the PS3, and no offense, but I'm not much on MGS. Just never could get into it.

yea actually 360 is more appealing to me also.. and the only real reason i would get the ps3 is for mgs4

For me, the real reason to have a PS3 is Ratchet & Clank. I simple adore that series. ^_^

I'd pick up the ps3 for that price. I my self don't have either a ps3 or 360. Given the chance I would buy the ps3, MGS4 FF And God of war.

God of War 3 (the only PS3 one so far) isn't out yet, mojo, but does it ever look good!

I don't regret buying a PS3 at all, and it seems to slowly be picking up steam. I just love videogames, ya know. ^_^

Yeah I know. You're right It looks amazing. And I must I agree with you once more, it is rather slow on picking up momentum. The PS3 is over priced. Thats were the Wii and 360 have em beat.

Wow, I hope that was a joke, because if not ... you're the biggest fanboy I've seen here yet.

xbox's online experience is hands down at the top. PS3 is rolling out God of War, Final Fantasy is going to hit the ps3 before the xbox. It's been rumored that MGS will be on the 360. It's all a matter of opinion. Competition is good though for the consumer. (and that did sound a lil like a fanboy.)

It sounded only slightly fanboyish, but you're not drooling over everything and insulting everything else.

I have both systems ... I prefer the Xbox because I have more friends on it, am in a XBL clan, so I get to play a lot with friends.

Each have their own exclusives, with both systems having an excellent exclusive with the initials GoW ... Gears of War and God of War. ^_^

Xbox's online is vastly, immensely, superior. Easier to group up, get into games, and the headsets all work perfectly and everyone has one. The PS3's is free, though, and improving.

i hate fanboys. just because you made your choice with your money, you feel the need to go defend your choice to the death. by insulting everyone else.

and not even with a shred of intelligence. you could have spouted a laundry list of genuine reasons the 360 is better, but instead, you forgo that and flap your pie hole like an ignorant retard.

however, my opinion also sides toward the 360. more games i enjoy, my friends are on it, etc. but it has given me the eye of sauron, and occasionally refuses to load games until it's been restarted a few times.

the ps3 serves me well as my blu-ray machine, though. and uncharted is an amazing game, minus the t-shirt guys that need half a clip to die. and it's way more configurable than the 360. free online is a good thing, and the psn has some great original indie games. also, i put a 320 GB HDD in it for LESS THAN HALF THE COST of the 360 120 GB drive.

I only have a PS3, but have played a lot of 360 at friend's houses and stuff.
Here are my opinions:
360 online >> PS3 online (however, free online is nice for PS3) (yes, the two >> were meant to be there)
360 controller = PS3 controller (however, only buy dual shock 3 controllers for PS3)
# of 360 exclusives = # of PS3 exclusives (Lots of people only think of halo and gears of war exclusives for 360 so they automatically think the 360 has better/more games, but the PS3 has lots of exclusives as well like resistance, killzone, little big planet, and infamous which looks pretty cool and is coming out sometime soon.)
# of people who own 360s > # of people who own PS3s (So if you like playing with friends, you should probably get a 360. unless you know people with PS3's)
cost of 360 < PS3 cost (two+ years of xbox live and the price evens out.)
PS3 sexiness > 360 sexiness (just my opinion, i think the ps3 looks cooler)
PS3 defectiveness % << 360 % defectiveness

Lastly , some random things for each. 360 has the netflix thing that i am jealous about, where you can stream videos on your 360. PS3 has a nifty blu ray player which i cannot take advantage cause i dont have a high def TV. The blu ray player also means PS3 games can hold more data than 360 games.. Let me know if i left something important out.

I'll give my opinion in a similar way, as an owner of both systems:

- 360 online >>>> PS3 online - Games have a mostly standard way of getting multiplayer to work, it's smoother to connect. Also, nearly everyone has a headset.
- 360 controller = PS3 pad - The d-pad on the 360 is horrible, the analog on the PS3 isn't as easy to use, 360's is slightly more comfortable and ergonomic. I also highly suggest not using the PS3's "six-axis" controller, and get a Dual Shock 3. It's much firmer, not so light you feel it'll float away, and it vibrates.
- # exclusives = on both - This one is open to more debate. Do you like GEARS of War or GOD of War? The only way to decide is to look. LittleBigPlanet is a masterpiece, btw.
# people owning each - Entirely depends on you. All of my friends online have 360s, some have PS3s. NONE of my local friends have 360s, all have PS3s. I needed both to play with all my friends.
Sexiness - Your opinion ... I only don't like that the 360 is white, because every console I own is black, except the ps1.
Defectiveness, 360 < PS3 - Yeah, RROD (Red Ring of Death) sucks, my sweetie's did it late last week. But the new systems are much more reliable, and as they break, they're being replaced with new ones. DO NOT BUY A USED 360. If you get a new one, this point may mean nothing to you

Streaming Netflix on the 360 is WONDERFUL, and I completely love it! I use it a lot. I also have a friend (lives downstairs) that has more money then anyone should, and lets me borrow every movie I want, DVD or Blu-Ray, and BRD (Blu Ray Discs) are phenomenally beautiful. This does in fact mean the PS3 can hold more info on a disc then the 360, but so far, it's meant little. This will likely change over time, though, as people get used to programming the PS3 and start to take advantage over it.

I can't remember who, but a programmer for some dev house said that the two consoles are very similar in power. The PS3 has a more powerful processor, but the 360 has a more powerful graphics system. They both have the same amount of RAM, but it's more customizable in the way that you can use the memory as you want, where the PS3 has dedicated application and graphics RAM.

All in all, I love both, but lean towards the 360 slightly. The big plus for the PS3 for me? My friends and I share our games. Any game you download can be downloaded to up to 5 PS3s.... I have a LOT of PSN games. ^_^

Edit: I forgot about something that levels the Netflix issue, but isn't nearly as elegant as Netflix on the 360: PlayOn. http://www.themediamall.com/playon What it does is let you stream Netflix, Amazon unbox, YouTube, Hulu, CBS, and a few others to BOTH consoles. The PlayOn software runs on your computer, and it's the middleman between the console and the sites you want video from. It pulls the video down, and sends it to the console. It's shareware, will work for like a month, then want to be registered. It's $39.99 now, but I got it for $29.99 since I bought it months ago at the 'introductory price'. Now if I miss a TV show, I can watch it on Hulu on my TV instead of sitting at the PC. ^_^

while the purpose is a little different, i also recommend tversity

once it gets set up, it will allow you to stream any media files on your pc to your console

Ah yes, I keep wanting to use that software, and keep forgetting about it. I've heard MANY good things about tvsersity.
